Dame Ereklasse Round 3 Preview – A Statement from Delft?

The Dame Ereklasse returns this Sunday, November 2nd, with all eyes on whether RC Delft D1 can continue their blistering start to the season or if last year’s finalists, AAC and RUS, will reassert themselves.

After two rounds, Delft sit comfortably at the top of the table with a perfect record, having smashed URC 77-5 in their last outing a performance that sent an early warning shot across the league. The reigning heavyweights of Dutch women’s rugby, Delft are clearly not content to wait until playoff season to make a statement.

Waterland D1 have also started strong, narrowly edging out RUS 22-20 in a nail-biter last weekend, and their clash with URC D1 at Sportpark this Sunday promises to test their mettle further. With both sides unbeaten so far (Delft & Waterland), expect a competitive fixtures where every point will matter.

AAC D1, last season’s finalist, host Delft in what could be the game of the round at Sportpark de Eendracht. AAC will be looking to bounce back after a 65-26 defeat to RC DIOK in Round 2, while Delft will aim to maintain their impressive points difference and momentum.

RUS D1 face RC DIOK D1 at Sportcentrum Olympos, a fixture that could be pivotal in the battle for a top-four finish. RUS will want to show they’re still serious contenders after a mixed start, while DIOK will be eager to climb the standings after an up-and-down opening two rounds.

Meanwhile, BRC D1 host Cas RC Ladies D1 at Sportboulevard Wisselaar in what looks set to be an entertaining mid-table clash. Cas RC Ladies have yet to find their rhythm, suffering defeats in both opening matches, but BRC cannot afford to underestimate them if they are to maintain their push towards the upper half of the table.

With Round 3 shaping up, the early season table hints at the battles to come: Delft appear poised to challenge for the crown, Waterland are lurking just behind, and AAC and RUS will be hungry to reclaim their spot among the elite. Expect speed, intensity, and drama as the Ereklasse sets the tone for what promises to be an exciting season.
